Hey all, just realized I haven't updated my journal in months, so I figured I'd fix that. You might have noticed I haven't been posting much art lately; mainly this is because my tablet conked out yet again and I don't have a scanner so while I still draw, I can only take low quality mobile photos of my art and I feel funny about uploading those to this account. I guess I might start doing that anyway though since the alternative is post nothing at all!

The big news is I'm heading to London in April to compete at the Irish Dance World Championships which is basically the Olympics of Irish dance; it's the most prestigious competition in the Irish dance world and you have to qualify in regional championships and it's really hard to make that cut. I'm thrilled. This also means less art time though because I'm busy dance training now! Just a little explanation for why I've been so quiet lately.

So much rejoicing happening right now.

Hi everyone,

It's been a while! But I am happy to say that I am now graduated from college with a BA in English with Highest Honors, and have moved back to the mainland after five years in Hawaii. I will hopefully now be able to start posting more, since things are settling down mostly. I just found my watercolors today while unpacking things and it led to some scribblings, so that's a good start.

For more frequent art updates, follow me on tumblr, where my username is abadpoetwithdreams. It's not an art blog per se, but I do post more sketches there than I do here, where I tend to post more finished pieces. Oh, and just a heads up, I have no scanner right now so I've been taking pics of my art with my iPod. Meaning the images will probably be a little fuzzy. Sorry about that.

Anyway, it's nice to be back, and hopefully I can survive getting through my inbox which seems to have collected a lot of stuff in my time away O.o

I've started designing characters that have been in my head for a while. Kinda cool to see them on the page. Don't know if anything will come of it, but it's still a nice exercise. Best of all I can draw them as kids and as adults. I probably wouldn't have been able to do that a year ago. I love it when I can tell I'm improving as an artist! Now if only my writing would improve in the same fashion . . .
